AUGER CAST PILING
Auger Cast Piling is used to create deep foundation piles by drilling a cylindrical hole into the ground and filling it with concrete. It’s efficient and minimizes soil disturbance, providing strong support for buildings and structures.
Vibrationless Option
8-36” diameters
Conventional ACP- one of the cheapest pile options
Displaced ACP great option for contaminated soils, no spoils
Can be used for compression and tension also be used in a secant or soilder pile formation for ERS
Difficult in fat clays or soft materials due to grout take and possiblenecking
Micro-Piles
Micro-piles are a type of deep foundation element constructed using small-diameter drilled and grouted piles, reinforced with steel. They are particularly useful in stabilizing structures and providing support in areas with difficult or restricted access, or where the soil conditions are complex. Micro-piles can be installed in a variety of ground conditions and are often used for underpinning existing structures, supporting new construction, or as part of seismic retrofitting projects. Their installation causes minimal vibration and disturbance, making them an excellent choice for urban environments or close to sensitive structures.
No restrictions on the types of materials that can be drilled into.
2-14” diameters
High Capacity capabilities
Post Grouting options for pile improvement
Smaller equipment providing limited access options
Cased, uncased, hollow bar options
Sheet Piling
Sheet piling services involve the installation of interlocking steel sheets into the ground to form a continuous barrier, primarily used for earth retention and excavation support. These steel sheets are driven into the ground using vibration or pressing methods, creating a strong and durable wall that holds soil or water back from construction sites or areas susceptible to erosion. Sheet piling is particularly useful in confined or urban spaces, along riverbanks, and in marine environments where ground stabilization and flood defense are crucial. This method not only secures the perimeter of construction sites but also aids in the safe completion of below-ground construction activities by providing necessary support.
Installed with Vibratory Hammer orDriving hammer depending on soil conditions
Economical option for Temporary applications
Hot rolled sheeting provides water retention
Reliable long term solution with aesthetic benefits
Helical Anchors
Helical anchors, also known as helical piles or screw piles, are deep foundation solutions used to secure new or repair existing foundations. They consist of steel shafts with helical flights that are mechanically screwed into the ground until the desired depth is reached. This installation method provides minimal soil disturbance and is highly efficient. Helical anchors are particularly effective in providing stability in soft soil conditions and are widely used for a variety of applications including supporting building foundations, bridges, and retaining structures. They offer a quick, strong, and reliable anchoring system that can be loaded immediately after installation, making them a popular choice for both temporary and permanent projects.
1.5” SS to 12” diameter piles
Immediate loading
Great alternative due to less equipment and materials needed for installation
Torque data received upon installation and installation logging equipment available
Under 100 piles under 100 kips a valuable alternative
Grouted Helical Hybrid piles available for additional skin friction and higher loading with less movement
Driven Piles Wood & Steel with Grouted Options
Driven piles are foundational elements made from wood or steel, designed to support structures by transferring load to deeper, more stable soil layers. These piles are physically driven into the ground using heavy machinery, making them suitable for a variety of soil conditions and construction needs. In addition to traditional driven piles, grouted options are available where the space around the piles is filled with grout to enhance load-bearing capacity and reduce settlement. This combination increases the structural stability and durability of the foundation. Driven piles are commonly used in both commercial and residential construction projects, providing a reliable and efficient deep foundation solution.
Earth Retention Systems
Earth retention system services involve the design and implementation of structures that stabilize soil and rock from erosion or collapse, particularly in construction zones. These systems are essential for ensuring the safety and stability of excavation sites, slopes, and embankments. Techniques include the use of sheet piling, soldier piles, secant or tangent walls, and soil nails, each chosen based on ground conditions and project requirements. These services are crucial for supporting the earth during the construction of underground structures, roadways, and foundations, especially in areas with challenging soil conditions or where space is limited. Effective earth retention not only secures the construction area but also protects nearby structures and properties from potential damage.
Temporary or Permanent
Auger casts, sheet piling, steel vertical members with wood lagging, soil permeation all alternatives.
Blending ERS system with permanent system can provide cost saving alternatives
High capacities for adjacent structure support and versatile for design parameters
Grouting Services
Grouting services involve injecting grout, a fluid form of concrete or specialized material, into the ground to enhance soil stability and bearing capacity. This technique is employed in several ways, including compaction grouting to densify loose soils, and permeation grouting to fill gaps and solidify soil matrices. Grouting is versatile, supporting multiple applications such as soil stabilization, water cutoff to prevent water flow in structures like dams, and filling voids to prevent subsidence. These services are crucial for construction projects requiring enhanced ground performance, infrastructure repair, and maintenance, ensuring safety and longevity of the structures.
Cements can include reg Portland cement, microfine cements and also chemical components.
Can be used to increase PSF by compaction or permeation
Soil Stabilization for multiple uses
Water Cut off
Void Filling
Structure lifting
Foundation Repair and Lifting
Foundation repair and lifting services address structural issues in buildings that arise from foundation settling, shifting, or damage. These services are crucial for restoring the integrity and safety of a building's foundation. Techniques used include underpinning, where additional support is installed beneath the foundation to stabilize and sometimes lift the structure to its original position. Hydraulic lift systems and helical piles are commonly employed to correct the level of the foundation effectively. These repair methods not only fix existing problems but also help prevent future issues, ensuring the foundation remains solid and secure. This service is essential for maintaining the safety, functionality, and value of any property.Temporary or Permanent
Lift existing Foundations and floors
Use of Helical Piers, Push Piers and Micropiles
Void fill areas after lift with grout or foam
Pile Testing Static or Dynamic
Pile testing services, including static and dynamic testing, are essential for assessing the structural integrity and load-bearing capacity of pile foundations. Static pile testing involves applying a controlled load to the pile and measuring its response, typically to ensure that the pile can support the design loads without excessive settlement. Dynamic pile testing, on the other hand, uses a drop weight to impart energy to the pile, capturing the resulting response with sensors. This method helps determine the pile's behavior under simulated working load conditions and is faster and less costly than static testing. Both testing types are crucial for verifying the design assumptions, ensuring that the pile foundations are capable of safely supporting the structure throughout its lifespan.
